Intro & New Features
The Bauer Nexus Havok hockey stick is an exclusive model to Source for Sports that aims to provide elite performance at an affordable price. This hockey stick comes with some of Bauer’s best technologies, including Nexus’ signature ER Spine, 15K carbon fibre in the shaft and blade, and a Dual Cell Bridge core blade. With this iteration, Bauer continues to develop more options for players who love the balance of power and agility that the mid kick Nexus line offers.
Stick Flex Profile
With the 2024 season, Nexus officially takes the position of Bauer’s mid kick hockey stick line. The Nexus Havok is designed to be well-balanced in terms of its performance and price point. As it stood before, Nexus’ mid kick focused a lot on bridging the gap between nimble play and powerful shots. The Nexus Havok features an enhanced feel, dynamic release, and easier flex, all elements from both traditional low and mid/high kick hockey sticks.
Shaft Construction & Stiffness
The shaft of the Nexus Havok uses advanced materials to help you perform at the elite level. It is made of 15K carbon fibre and uses Nexus’ distinct ER Spine geometry, both features found in elite-level Bauer sticks. 15K carbon ensures the shaft is incredibly durable, especially at the Havoks’ price level. The ER Spine is a five-sided shaft built to allow your fingers to contour around the shaft, resulting in a better feel. This geometry is exclusive to the Nexus line.
Blade Construction
The blade features a Dual Cell Bridge core and is made with 15K carbon fibre, similar to the E50 Pro. The 15K carbon keeps the blade stiff while you shoot. Bauer connected the blade to the shaft with their High Performance (HP) mold, effectively enhancing that connection you need with your stick to take full control of the ice.
Grip
The Nexus Havok stick uses a soft gloss grip, which works well with the ER Spine to balance control and freedom of movement for your hand.
Blade Patterns, Flex & Stick Length
The Bauer Nexus Havok Junior Hockey Stick is available in the following blade patterns: P92 and P28.
P92 is the best blade pattern for all-around play, with a mid-curve style. It is great at handling the puck in small spaces, including face-offs.
P28 is a much more aggressive stick pattern, used often by elite players. This blade curve specializes in quick and accurate shots, but it can be a bit difficult to get used to since it is also very good at raising the puck.
